Coursevisor is operated by Yusuf Bayram in Türkiye, who is the data controller for everything described here. Write to support@coursevisor.app about anything on this page.

Account details, semesters, courses, tasks, calendar events, grades, attendance, flashcards, tutor conversations, uploaded study materials, notification preferences, device push tokens, and security logs needed to operate your account.

We use this data to provide study planning, document search, course tutoring, reminders, account security, and support. Tutor prompts may include the course data and excerpts needed to answer your question. Coursevisor does not sell personal information or use student content for advertising.

Most of it we process because you asked us to run the service for you — that is the agreement these terms describe. Security logs and abuse prevention we process because a service open to the public cannot be run without them. Push notifications and sign-in with Google happen only if you switch them on, and you can switch them off again. Where a paid plan exists, billing records are processed because tax and accounting law requires them.

A tutor answer is generated by an outside model provider, so the question you ask, the excerpts of your material needed to answer it, and the course context are sent to the provider behind the model you have selected: Anthropic, OpenAI, Google Gemini, DeepSeek. They process it to return an answer, under their own terms, and Coursevisor does not send them your name or email address.

Which of them is involved is your choice: the free plan uses the built-in default model only, and the model picker on a paid plan names the provider for every option. If you would rather a document never reached a model provider, do not upload it — search and tutoring are what the upload is for.

Besides the model providers above, these companies process data on Coursevisor's behalf. They receive only what their job needs.

• Neon — Hosts the database: your account, courses, notes and grades. Data held in: United Kingdom.
• Cloudflare — Runs the site and stores your uploaded files and their extracted text. Data held in: Europe, and Cloudflare's global network for the site itself.
• Resend — Delivers sign-in, verification and password-reset email. Data held in: United States.
• Expo — Delivers push notifications, if you turn them on. Data held in: United States.
• Google — Signs you in, if you choose to sign in with Google. Data held in: United States.

There is no analytics, advertising or crash-reporting vendor in Coursevisor at all. Nothing about your use of it is sent to one, because there is not one to send it to.

Coursevisor is operated from Türkiye, and the providers above are not. Your account data sits in a database in the United Kingdom and your files in European object storage; email, push and sign-in providers, and every AI model provider, process data in the United States or wherever else they operate. Using Coursevisor means your data is transferred out of Türkiye to them, under the contractual commitments each provider gives for the service it runs.

Paid plans are sold through a payment provider acting as the merchant of record. Card details are entered on their pages and are never sent to or stored by Coursevisor; we receive the subscription status, the billing period, and a customer reference so your plan can be applied to your account.

Coursevisor sets three kinds of cookie, all of them for running the site. There are no advertising or analytics cookies, and nothing here tracks you across other websites.

• authjs.* — Keeps you signed in and protects sign-in forms against cross-site submission. Set only once you sign in. Kept: Until you sign out.
• coop.locale — Remembers whether you chose English or Turkish, so signed-out pages come back in your language. Kept: One year.
• coop_rail — Remembers whether you collapsed the sidebar, so the page does not render it open and snap it shut. Kept: One year.

Your light or dark theme choice is kept in the browser's own storage rather than a cookie, and never leaves the device. Clearing site data removes all of it; the sign-in cookies are the only ones whose removal signs you out.

Your account data stays while the account exists. Deleting the account deletes the records and the uploaded files with them, in that action, not on a queue.

Some records expire on their own, whether or not you delete anything: AI usage records after 90 days, course-memory revision history after 365 days, and completed tutor request records after 30 days. The database provider keeps operational snapshots that can restore recent state for up to 6 hours, so a deleted row can survive that long in a backup before it ages out.

You can ask what is held about you and get a copy of it, have it corrected, have it deleted, object to a particular use of it, or ask us to restrict one — and most of it you can simply do yourself: Settings exports a JSON copy of your account and deletes the account outright.

Ask by writing to support@coursevisor.app; we answer within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with the answer, you can complain to your data protection authority — in Türkiye that is the KVKK (Kişisel Verileri Koruma Kurumu), and in the EEA or the UK it is your national supervisory authority.

Coursevisor is built for university students and is not intended for children: you need to be at least 16 to have an account, as the terms say. If you believe a younger child has created one, write to support@coursevisor.app and we will remove it. Read the terms

Coursevisor uses encrypted transport, scoped access controls, expiring mobile sessions, and redacted diagnostics. Operational logs stay in the service that produced them; tutor messages and file contents are not written to them. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.

Push notifications are optional. If enabled, Coursevisor stores a device token and your reminder schedule. You can disable individual categories or all reminders in Settings or in the operating system.

When this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. If a change alters what we collect, who receives it, or how long it is kept, we email the address on your account before it takes effect, so that continuing to use Coursevisor is a choice you made rather than one you missed.
